UK Open Tree Climbing Competition 3rd June 2017 -

Arbor Venture Training ClassArbor Venture Training ClassThe sun shone, the setting perfect and the competition was awesome.  Arbor Venture hosted this year’s UK open tree climbing competition

in the New Forest.  This year we were able to mix it up a little and give everyone the opportunity to try out a masters climb on the day. We grouped experienced and novice climbers together to build on our fundamental aim of having a fun experience and encouraging new climbers in to the competition world and improve their tree care skills. We ran a 10min 10 station work climb tree, an aerial rescue event and a “mini masters” for all competitors to compete in.

Well supported by all our sponsors we were able to give amazing prizes not only to the winners but to all the competitors and volunteers.
A special thank you to everyone who helped; volunteers, judges, score runners, refreshment providers, set up and take down of events, and generally making the day run smoothly for everyone. These competitions can’t run without support. So if you are not ready to compete but want to be part of a great social and networking event we look forward to seeing you next year.

"What a fantastic competition this year, I can only give positive feedback all of the events were run well and we had quick turnaround times for each climber. The masters tree was set up perfectly and the prizes were awesome too. Thanks for running a great comp and we will see you all again next year " Graham Bird

"The venue was great and all credit to John for setting up some well thought out and interesting climbs. The highlight for me being the work climb, speed climb and masters events largely down to the tree selection and set up. I enjoyed the relaxed and informal atmosphere; the volunteers played a huge part in making the event work and everyone there seemed to be encouraging to one another" Joe Davis
