UK Open Tree Climbing Competition

23rd & 24th July 2016 More Information

UK Open Tree Climbing Competition 23rd -24th July 2016
The weather was good, the setting perfect and the competition was awesome.  Arbor Venture hosted this year’s UK open tree climbing competition in the New Forest, run under ISA rules.  With a fantastic turnout of 27 Competitors, of which 6 were females being able to make up a group of their own for the event rotations.  We were able to mix experienced and novice climbers to build on our fundamental aim of having a fun experience and encouraging new climbers in to the competition world and improve their tree care skills.
Well supported by all our sponsors we were able to give amazing prizes not only to the winners but to all the competitors and volunteers, including the best novice.
A special thank you to everyone who helped; volunteers, judges, score runners, refreshment providers, set up and take down of events, and generally making the day run smoothly for everyone. These competitions can’t run without support. So if you are not ready to compete but want to be part of a great social and networking event we look forward to seeing you next year.

"What a fantastic competition this year, I can only give positive feedback all of the events were run well and we had quick turnaround times for each climber. The masters tree was set up perfectly and the prizes were awesome too. Thanks for running a great comp and we will see you all again next year " Graham Bird

"The venue was great and all credit to John for setting up some well thought out and interesting climbs. The highlight for me being the work climb, speed climb and masters events largely down to the tree selection and set up. I enjoyed the relaxed and informal atmosphere; the volunteers played a huge part in making the event work and everyone there seemed to be encouraging to one another" Joe Davis

Mens Masters 1st Joe Davis, 2nd Graham Bird, 3rd Jon Turnbull, 4th Rhys Brace, 5th Mike Birchall

Womens Masters 1st Josephine Hedger, 2nd Boel Hammarstrand

Best Novice Adam Curtis

Thank you to sponsors DMM, Honey Brothers, Petzl, Teufelberger, ISC, Haix, Sip, Sawpod, Treekit and Workwear for showing your support and encouragement, it was also good to see some of you there.
